Diversion Safes - Guardians of Your Valuables

by Court Rogers on December 3, 2009

Do you know if your friends have a Diversion Safe? Not likely because they are so will hidden but yet in plain site. What is a Diversion safe. It is a common everyday item that you store your valuables in so only you know. Hide your valuables right under your sink. Other names for it would be a fake safe or hidden safe or even a hide a key. They look just like a jar of peanut butter or a can of hair spray.

Why? Because a Diversion Safe looks and feels exactly like what they represent, e.g. RC Cola Can, Ajax Cleanser, etc. That’s because they are! These everyday objects seen in any house are hollowed out and have a twist off top or bottom. They are also usually weighted to feel like they’re full. Diversion Safes come in many different sizes and shapes — usually in the form of cans but you also will find Diversion Safes Candles, Books, Thermal Coffee Mugs, Flower Pots, Electrical Outlets and even Pillows.

Remember the TV commercial about the lady who opens the medicine cabinet door and all the shelves collapsed? Why did she even open the cabinet? She’s probably an honest lady - she was just curious, right? Well what if that medicine cabinet hadn’t collapsed and she saw something of value in it - money, jewelry to be cleaned or who knows what. Would she have taken the valuables? Would you? Hopefully not.

You must consider the size of the diversion safe when you are shopping. I would recommend that you measure whatever you would like to hide before purchasing a hide-a-safe so that you will not be in for any surprises when you receive your product. Also remember to buy a diversion safe that will blend in with the environment that you will be placing it.

Some people travel with all the best jewelry. The criminal are waiting for you when you go on vacation. We all bring books to read on vacation why not the one that is a safe keep it on the night table as if you were reading. You can change the cover to any hardcover you want. The latest best seller just take the cover off another book and place it on the night stand. I also love the garage in a oil can it looks just like a can of oil treatment.
